Constance Kaplan

Constance presented four keynote addresses at the PI Innovations in EMDR Conferences and has taught master classes. She is a contributing author in Dr. Parnell’s book, Rewiring the Addicted Brain. She integrates AF-EMDR and somatic modalities into an Object Relations practice and works with creative blocks and peak performance. She is former President of the Association for Psychoanalytic Thought in California. She served on 2 committees at the American Psychoanalytic Association to further social justice issues within the curriculum and the public sphere. She was influential in launching the Trauma Resource Institute and served on various trauma relief teams providing onsite training to first responders and mental health professionals. She expanded the PI’s in-person AF-EMDR training to include a virtual format able to reach clinicians around the globe. She created an online video with two colleagues to help front-line healthcare providers avoid long-term distress during the pandemic.
