About
After working for LA County Department and Children Family Services for over 30 years and having been licensed as a clinical social worker since 1998, I was thrilled to open a small private practice in 2023. I have extensive experience working with children, families and communities and thorough knowledge and understanding of key factors contributing to healthy human development and functioning. Along with my professional experience, my personal journey significantly increased my skills and abilities to empathize, form strong therapeutic and trust-based working relationships, and help individuals recover, heal and achieve well-being. I believe each of us are the experts on our own needs and, as such, I utilize an individualized, goal-oriented, strengths-needs based holistic approach to therapy. I believe in the power of a therapeutic, compassionate relationship to help individuals develop their sense of self, achieve a corrective emotional experience, to heal and overcome trauma. I work closely with individuals to clearly understand their story, current circumstances, and to achieve their hopes and dreams. Given my personal and professional experience, I have a strong foundation related to healthy child and family functioning, however completion of Laurel Parnell's Attachment Focused - Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Training transformed my practice and further equipped me to help others in addressing, managing and overcoming enumerable life challenges. In addition to AF-EMDR, I rely most heavily on Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, and other techniques to increase coping and well-being. I take my practice and partnership with clients very seriously and strive to provide high quality services and outcomes.
