Amy Tan

Amy holds a Master of Social Science in Professional Counselling and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Psychology. She is a registered member and supervisor with the Singapore Association for Counselling. Amy is happily married with three sons aged 28, 24 and 21. Currently, she works as a Principal Counsellor with Care Corner heading the Community Counselling Unit. During her course of work, Amy counsels children of all ages, teenagers and families. Amy seeks to help individuals grow their self -awareness and empowers them to unleash their potential. With families, Amy aims to help build strong bonds among family members through strengthening of the marriage and positive discipline of the children. As a qualified Family Violence and Trauma Informed Practitioner, she helps both the survivors and perpetrators of domestic violence in her course of work. Amy is passionate about helping client who experienced trauma, and is a registered practitioner and consultant with EMDRIA, US certification body of EMDR ( eye movement desensitization and reprocessing). As a keen member of Community of Practice for Mental Health, Amy participated in developing the Mental Health Resource Kit for Practitioners in 2014. She is a qualified trainer for the Mental Health First Aid for children and Youth since 2015.
